Crystal diva/ My challenge and tutorial

Happy february to you all!

I have a new challenge up at Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia.

Well after a recent class with the amazing Lou Nelson I was inspired to mix up my style a bit.
Lou plays with mists and watered down gesso a lot. See her work here: http://louise-justloolabelle.blogspot.com.au

Since her class I have been watering down my paints and allowing them to drip run over my page.

For my challenge I would like you to give this drip/run technique a go.

You can use watered down paints like I do or traditional mists.

Here is my example layout

Miss Congeniality 2012

The show us your stuff challenge for January is to be inspired by this awesome image.
And of course as always to use handmade goodies.

Our sponsor for this month is Moulds by Mel.
Mel was kind enough to send us Moulds to design with this month. Here is a little bit about Moulds by Mel.

"Moulds by Mel was established in the early part of 2012. It has been an idea I have been playing with in my head for a few years now, but only this year took the leap to make it a reality. The main drive for me in creating this product is to provide an avenue for creative people to customise their own embellishment. Be they for paper crafting, Home Décor or Jewellery making. How many times have you wanted to use something on your project only for it to be just not the right colour? Well with these moulds and either Wax, Clay, Utee or Resin the possibilities for these moulds are really endless. Colouring your shapes are easy, once they have had a coat or two of gesso, you can colour them with any mediums you already have in the cupboard at home. Inks, paint, Glimmer Mist, pastels, chalks, watercolour pencils, you name it. Go fourth and customise! "

I played with this gorgeous mould on my layout.

I used this fabulous tutorial using a glue gun , and the glue sticks in it to fill the mould, it was so quick and easy and meant that I didn't need to go out and buy clay to use the mould. I made two lots of this particular mould and when dry they popped out so easily and I lightly painted them to add colour.
Thanks so much Eb for sharing the link.

So from the image I was inspired by the turquoise and chocolate and the bird motif. Here is my DT example layout;

My hand made items are the mould I used by Moulds by Mel , a charms creations heavenly heart and a greatest view badge.

Lachlan's 1st birthday in Heaven.

Happy new year to you all!
I hope you had a Merry Christmas and that 2013 is a fabulous year for you.
December was a hectic month for us.
But we have just returned from a week holiday, camping, it was a nice way to unwind after the silly season.

Just after Christmas was our Angel Son Lachlan's first birthday in Heaven.
We were away for it so we couldn't go to the cemetery but my family and one of my besties did for me.
At the beach we were camping at we released some balloons and had some cake with the inlaws to remember my little man and his first birthday. It was a sad but lovely day.

Here is some photos of the cemetery and how gorgeous his grave looked on the day. My family and friends are the best : )
